This is the format you receive. Real profiles include a code sample, a recorded technical interview, and the two references we already called.

The problem

Hiring a Shopify developer costs you more than the salary.

You already know the pattern. A client asks for Shopify work, and your options are a freelancer you have to vet, a marketplace hire who disappears mid-sprint, or your senior dev pulling double duty at their own rate.

6–10 wks

To hire in-house

Posting, screening, interviewing, onboarding — and that’s if your first pick accepts. Most agencies can’t wait that long for a single build.

1 in 4

Freelancers who stick

Marketplace hires churn. They find the next gig, go dark mid-project, or deliver code your team has to rewrite. You end up managing the manager.

Your PM

Pays the management tax

Chasing freelancers and onboarding new ones costs your PM 5–8 hours a week. That’s billable time your agency doesn’t get back.

How it works

Brief on Monday. Working developer inside your team.

STEP 1

You send the brief

Stack, tools, hours, timeline — whatever you already have. If it’s a Slack message, that’s fine. No RFP, no 40-minute discovery call.

STEP 2

You get two or three profiles

Real work samples, not resumes. Each profile shows Shopify builds they’ve shipped, the stack they know, and when they can start. Delivered in three business days.

STEP 3

They join your tools

Your Slack, your GitHub, your Jira. They show up in your standup and work inside your workflow. No separate project management layer.

STEP 4

We stay on their case

Biweekly written performance reports. If something slips — quality, speed, communication — we catch it before you have to. Replacement is on us, no fee.

Vs. a marketplace

This is what separates us from a marketplace.

Every developer on a marketplace passed a coding test. So did ours. The difference is what happens after the placement. We track output, run client-facing checks, and replace developers who fall off — at no extra cost. A marketplace sends you a profile and disappears.

  • Biweekly written report on output, blockers, and hours — sent to you, not requested by you.
  • Same-role replacement in 48 hours if the fit breaks. No re-sourcing fee.
  • We only place Shopify developers. Not “full-stack devs who also do Shopify.” Liquid, Hydrogen, Remix, checkout extensibility — that’s all they do.
The bench — vs a marketplace Shopify only
38.3
avg. Shopify score

Our bench averages 38.3 on the Shopify developer assessment. The platform median is 22.

11
avg. years experience

Not junior devs learning Liquid on your project. Seniors who’ve shipped Plus stores, custom apps, and checkout extensions.

Peer-reviewed
every project

Every developer’s code is reviewed by a senior on our side before it hits your repo. You get clean PRs, not cleanup work.

The bench

Roughly one in twenty gets on the bench.

We test on real Shopify work, not algorithm puzzles. A developer who can reverse-engineer why a section schema breaks on a Shopify 2.0 theme is more useful to your agency than one who can sort a linked list.

01

Shopify architecture review

Their past projects — do they know sections, metafields, app blocks, theme architecture? We look at real repos, not portfolios.

02

Paid trial project

A real Shopify build, paid, timed. We see how they scope, communicate, and ship — not just whether the code works.

03

Client-facing communication check

Can they write a clear standup update? Can they flag a blocker without your PM having to extract it? Agencies need developers who communicate, not just code.

04

Two-week trial with your team

After all of that, they still do a trial period inside your actual workflow. If the fit isn’t right, we replace them at no cost.

Transparent rates

Three ways to book the bench.

Rates are monthly. All tiers include oversight, biweekly reports, and same-role replacement at no extra cost. These numbers reflect the last 12 months of placements.

Part-time

20 hrs/week

$1,900 /mo

For consistent overflow work — e.g., a retainer client with a weekly ticket queue. Enough hours for one focused workstream without committing to full-time.

Get profiles
Fixed scope

Scoped to deliverable

$4,000 flat

For one-off projects with a clear brief. Store builds, migrations, theme rewrites. Priced per project, not per hour. Scope locked before work starts.

Send the brief

No recruitment fee. Oversight, biweekly reports, and same-role replacement are included on every tier.

The guarantee

One week. If they’re not right, you pay nothing.

Every placement starts with a one-week paid trial. If the developer doesn’t meet the brief — wrong skill level, bad communication, poor output — you don’t pay for that week. We eat the cost and send a replacement profile within 48 hours.

No forms to fill. No “credits toward future work.” Just a refund and a new profile.

We can make this offer because roughly one in twenty gets on the bench. By the time a developer reaches your standup, they’ve passed an architecture review, a paid trial project, and a client-facing communication check. The guarantee exists because we rarely need to use it.

1 week

Paid trial

They join your standup. You see the work before you commit to the month.

$0

If they’re not right

Wrong skill, bad communication, poor output — you don’t pay for that week.

48 hrs

Replacement

Same role, same rate. Backup profiles stay warm for exactly this.

Questions everyone asks

The ones that come up on every first call.

Will my client know the developer is not our employee?+

No. They work inside your tools, attend your standups, and use whatever email domain you set up. We stay behind the scenes unless you choose to introduce us. Most of our placements have been embedded for 6+ months without the end client knowing.

What happens if the developer is not a good fit?+

We replace them. Same role, same rate, no gap fee. We keep backup profiles warm specifically for this. Average replacement time is 48 hours.

Which timezones do you cover?+

Most of our bench overlaps with US Eastern and Central. We can staff GMT and GMT+1 for UK and EU agencies. If you need a specific timezone window, tell us in the brief and we’ll confirm before sending profiles.

Can we hire the developer directly later?+

Yes. After six months, you can convert them to your payroll. We charge a one-time conversion fee — it’s in the contract upfront, not a surprise.

Do you work on non-Shopify projects?+

No. Shopify and Shopify Plus only. That’s why our developers are good at it — it’s all they do. If you need a React generalist or a WordPress dev, we’re not the right call.

How do payments and contracts work?+

Monthly billing, 30-day rolling contracts. No long-term lock-in. You can scale up, scale down, or end the engagement at the end of any month.
